  • Who can apply for a scholarship?

Anyone can apply.  Priority when awarding scholarships goes to youth who have lost a parent to death with a financial need and to youth rolling out of the child welfare system (DHR).

  • When is the deadline for seed grants?

Seed grant applications are accepted on a continuous basis. 

  •  How are seed grants awarded?

Priority for seed grants are widow/widowers who wish to begin a home based business. Board of Directors will consider each application based on recommendations and business plan.  

  •  What is the amount of a scholarship?

$1,000.00 per academic year.

  •  Is the scholarship renewable?

Yes, current recipients have first priority provided a 3.0 GPA is maintained up to six years.

  • How is the scholarship paid?

$500 in the fall term; $500 in the spring term contingent on the recipient providing the foundation with a grade report showing a 3.0 GPA.
 

  • Is the scholarship payable in cash?

No, a check is sent to the college where the recipient has registered for classes to be applied to tuition, fees, books, housing & meal ticket. 

  •  How is a seed grant paid? 

The recipient provides the Board of Directors with a quote from a vendor showing a list of needed items and amount of need. Check will be made payable to the vendor.

  •  If I receive a seed grant can I receive cash?

No, funds can only be released to a vendor for needed equipment or supplies.  

  • When will scholarships be awarded? 

Scholarship applications are due by March 1 each year.  Recipients will be notified of award prior to high school graduation.
